第一个只照着字面翻，所以翻错了，正确是：将广告的着重点放在商品的低廉价格上是正确的。


后天回英国了，还有很多东西要办没时间慢慢翻了...刚看到这个错太离谱了忍不住才回帖，飘走...

第二句话不是翻译...是爱莫能助的解释...

说说啥叫实用的吧

It is precisely because of the heavy advertising that consumer goods are so cheap.
这句去掉强调句式的话，应该是Consumer goods are so cheap precisely because of the heavy advertising.
翻译为“恰恰是因为大量的广告宣传，消费品的价格才会如此之低”应该是没有问题的。

79 开始我和您翻译的不一样，主要是当时认为tea不能被made in the office,所以误把made in the office当作是对三明治的修饰了，看了您的翻译觉得还是您的对，哈哈。

我的英文理解和你一样，但是这句中文是说不通的，反倒jingb的可以理解

之所以翻译过来有些令人费解，主要是缺少上下文，作者肯定在这句之前或之后对这一观点进行了论证。

pangeng翻译的这句好像就是同一篇文章里的一个论据：

所以我才问楼主（不出现了，难道考完了），因为一般考翻译都会翻译一篇文章中的几句话，很少单列几个句子让人翻译的。

另外，sectionboy（不是jingb） 的翻译：将广告的着重点放在商品的低廉价格上是正确的。
可以想象应该对应这样的英语：It's precise(adj.) advertising(v.ing) heavy (or heavily adv.) that consumer goods are so cheap.
而原句It is precisely(adv.) because of the heavy(adj.) advertising(n.) that consumer goods are so cheap.
that后面的句子结构完整，可以确定不是名词advertising的定语从句，因此，“将广告的着重点放在商品的低廉价格上” 的翻译就应该不成立了，更何况，原句的because of怎么办？
